US town names itself after cocktail!

An American town is being renamed after a cocktail for two weeks this month.

According to Ananova, the Richland section of Buena Vista in New Jersey is already into the first week with its new name Mojito. The move comes after Bacardi donated 5,000 dollars to the town.

However, Mayor Mayor Chuck Chiarello and Township Committee members had consulted residents before officials could give the go-ahead with the change. The mayor said that he had received positive feedback from the people.

The Mojito cocktail has become popular over the last five years, especially after a character in the TV sitcom 'Sex And The City', asked for one of the drinks

Only $5000 to get a town renamed? I would have thought changing signs, letterhead, and legal work would cost more than that.

Damn. Mojito's are good....but I figured that a town called that would be located a bit further south...

As in South Florida.

How would you like to live in Sexonthe Beach, NC or Slowcomfortablescrewagainstthewall, Tx?

Of course, Kahlua, HI would not sound too out of place.

I will stay right here in Budweiser, CT, thank you.

Thank goodness they didn't choose Slippery Nipple or Screaming Orgasm. I overheard a lady at a restaurant order the latter and nearly fell out of my chair.

There is also Half.com, Oregon.. The town took money from a dot com (still in existance) to rename themselves.

Hey, I used to live near a town named Bourbon, Missouri. I used to laugh when I would drive by the town's water tower, which had the word BOURBON on it.
