WASHINGTON POST PLANNING TO UNLEASH MORE PRISONER ABUSE PHOTOS, NEWSROOM SOURCES TELL DRUDGE... DEVELOPING...
The pictures obtained by The Post include shots of soldiers simulating sexually explicit acts with one another and shots of a cow being skinned and gutted and soldiers posing with its severed head. There are also dozens of pictures of a cat's severed head....
Other photographs show wounded men and dead bodies. In one, a dead man is lying in the back of a truck, his shirt, face and left arm covered in blood. His right arm is missing. Another photograph shows a dead body, gray and decomposing. A young soldier is leaning over the corpse, smiling broadly and giving the "thumbs-up" sign.
And in another picture a young woman lifts her shirt, exposing her breasts. She is wearing a white band with numbers on her wrist, but it is unclear if she is a prisoner.
Another photograph of a naked man with a dark hood over his head, handcuffed to a cell door. And another of a naked man handcuffed to a bunk bed, his arms splayed so wide that his back is arched...
A picture shows a soldier holding a leash tied around a naked man's neck in an Iraqi prison....

Has anyone stopped to ask who's taking these photos, and where the press is getting them from?
I mean, Michael Moore did say that he had people in Iraq "feeding" stuff out -- how do we know this isn't another "Hollywood production?"

Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

Thanks for the warning. More anti-Americanism from a news leader.

Is this what gays in the military have led to?
To: new cruelty
Now PETA will get involved because of the cow and cat pictures.

Both things disturb me: the 'alleged' future photos and the media playing the willing pimp. I don't know what's worse- the subject matter of the photos or the subject of the article.
I don't know what the liberal press is making such a fuss over these photos anyway. Over here, they'd be considered 'art' and protected by first amendment crybabys.

This is not good.
And, that's not just from a PR perspective, either.

Uh...you have to skin and gut a cow if you're planning on eating it. And while bodies with severed limbs are upsetting enough, they're a part of war and we've had our share.
To: fullchroma
I truly feel bad for the rest of our military for having these dishonorable acts reflect on them. One soldier on ABC radio today said the same thing.

they can feed any photo into the pipeline now, now that the basis has been established with some legitimate photos, that they have hyped into oblivion. anything goes.

This is like being transported to another universe. It's like we're witnessing the Bizarro American Army. Major cognitive dissonance. A severed cat head? Smiling by a rotting corpse?
Are we dreaming? This just keeps getting weirder.

History DOES repeat itself and the timing couldn't be better.......here we have a guy who has a hole in him a mile wide due to his anti-war rhetoric after Vietnam. His hole gets wider when he admits to seeing and committing war atrocities. Now ironically, thirty-three years later when this hippie is running for President, his words echo true because of some pictures that suddenly appear. Voila! Instant credibility for Kerry that he was justified in his chastisement of the military and now when we hear his 1971 speech, he is again a hero. This smells really rotten to me.

Bring it on. Lets get it overwith. I hope the press releases all the pictures they can get their hands on so we can be done with this. I would still like to know who is releasing all these pictures.

This reminds me of the houndreds of pictures their where of the Iraq museum being looted of irreplacable cultural treasures. Turned out that it was many replays of the same thing. How many of these were taken at the same time?

There's no doubt that there are some sick and twisted people in the world- but all working the same assignment from the US military? Sheesh. If this is true, these soldiers need serious psych evals- then serious brig time.

I thought the media was worried about violations of the Geneva Convention?

So WHAT!!!!!
None of these pictures has anything remotely to do with torture.
While I find the photos of dead mean and animals rather distasteful, there is nothing that indicates that it as part of some kind of torture.
Who knows what the woman was doing...could of been taken in the french Quarter in New Orleans.
This is war. People die. Get over it.
