well, I disagree with you.
1. Practically everybody in this country are immigrants or descendents of immigrants. They used to say that Italians, Irish, etc. won't assimilate. Well, they were wrong. The new immigrants (legal, that is) and their descendents will assimilate and make this country a better and richer country.
2. There will always be lousy teachers with their own agenda. However, the majority of teachers are good teachers.
3. Of course, you are taking my words out of context. WTC bombing did not bring down America. I am more worried about us destroying ourselves than some uneducated Islamic radicals.
Those immigrants thought that "opportunity" meant hard work in a place where one's efforts would allow them to advance. Today's immigrants, especially the illegal ones (and you may NOT simply ignore them) think of "opportunity" as handouts - social security, medicare, welfare, free schools, free housing. They might do low-wage jobs "that Americans are unwilling to do" as some say, but they cost much more in entitlements than they produce in labor - to the tune of billions of dollars a year.
2. We simply disagree. I believe that the vast majority of government school "civics" teachers are leftists, with at the very least, a viciously anti-gun agenda.
3. On the contrary, you said they haven't hit us, and I say they have. You are now quibbling that "Sept 11 doesn't count." Well, I think it does. And like illegal immigrants, I don't think you can simply dismiss it either. (Incidentally, if Sept 11 did bring down America, then we wouldn't be having this discussion at all.)
