Sending a nuclear weapon to the United States, and setting it off there, would be suicidal (analysis of the debris would likely identify its origins) because of American nuclear retaliation. Unless Iran targets Berkeley or Hollywood or Chappaqua, there will be a serious payback issue.
But of course we have been told by an expert that the "threat of terrorism is greatly exaggerated".
