Berlin, , May. 3 (UPI) -- The German Green Party pulled out of the country's heated immigration negotiations, potentially threatening its position as a ruling coalition partner.
"The game is up, there is no sense in continuing this conversation," said Green Party head Reinhard Buetikofer, the German newspaper Die Welt reports.

Buetikofer accused opposition Christian Democrats of politicizing the immigration debate and overemphasizing security issues.
Gee, a political party playing politics. Who woulda thunk it?
The Greens are morons. The Christians will get to keep their faith (albeit at a heavy price) if the Islamists take over; the nonbelievers will be put to the sword.

Buetikofer accused opposition Christian Democrats of politicizing the immigration debate and overemphasizing security issues. Whatever pundit it was recently that said that Europeans aren't really worried about terrorism would appear to be correct, at least as far as the Greens are concerned.

Tonight's edition of Deutsche Welle featured this news along with a feature on Germany's demographic catastrophe: they are having so few children that the population is slowly dying out.

What the German rarely talks about...is that German couples are marrying later in life...having only one kid...and both parents are working, thus forcing the pension funnel to get smaller each year. The politicans realize this situation but can't do a thing about it. Its a deadend street. You can't change society...you can't improve the business climate...you can't bring in more foreign investment (too high taxes)...and the standard of living must stay at the current level or all the polticians will be fired. In Bavaria, the birthrate is close to two per couple...but the rest of German is staying near one. And the Islamic families...they are the ones increasing. Take a guess who the Greens are supporting....
