300-500 militia in the town many very young 16-20 years old.
This was a planned event. Filling a power vacuum. Spain pulled out and wasn't taking the fight to the enemy so we did.

Excellent. Forward momentum again.

Our troops are there in place of the Spanish troops that pulled out.

He deserves no option.

. . . they are starting to surrender. Too bad. I'd prefer to see them dead. Arab/muslim "surrenders" are never permanent, but death is. :-)

Take no prisoners.

He was good for awhile, but the last couple of times I checked in, he was going over the all important Michael Jackson case. I could not care less about michaeljacksonscottpetersenmarthastewart crap.

Last week someone in the know about Iraq said that Sadr was planning a major action in Karbala while we were preoccupied with his boys in Najaf as well as the Sunnis in Fallujah.
It's clear that our military is getting good intelligence and has moved to take care of Sadr's Karbala plans before they came to fruition. Good work.

I think Detroit would be considered a muslim holy city.

Apaches firing at 3 possible targets:
A hotel, the Ba'ath party headquarters (being hit now), and possibly another target

We've taken out a hotel, former Baathist headquarters and now a house. Karbala has 600,000 population. Tracer bullets being seen. Loudspeaker announcements telling civilians to stay inside.
