What matters is the effect it has on the Arab population. You know, the ones we're bringing democracy and the American way of life to, the ones to whom we hold ourselves as the great emancipators. The ones whose hearts and minds we're trying to win. I could care less what they think. If they're so stupid as to have this incident cause them to join the terrorists then good better to kill them now and get them out of the gene pool. Once the smoke clears the good Iraqis that understand what were are trying to do will ultimately be responsible for their country and their fellow countrymen and have an easier time with their fledgling democracy with the crazies out of the way. The US will have fewer potential terrorists in the future.

Well, the President better care. Iraq is rushing towards a Perfect Storm and a complete unravelling. Combined with events in Falluja, the stable but serious loss of control in Southern Iraq, the fragility of the supply lines and a dangerous ambiguity as to how explosive Baghdad is, the closer we get to June 30, the further out it looks.
You don't get it - this is not an "incident" but a systematic, prolonged, command approved series of behavioral problems that undercuts EVERYTHING we have done in Iraq.
