Why was Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski relieved of her command if it was just "part of the information extraction processs"?

She claims she didn't know this was happening at the time. I would venture that

#1 the Military assumes total accountability of it's officers, by her admission she failed in her duty.

#2 They need to make an example.

Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with what was done, although I could see that it might be a useful technique. The key here is that I don't know, and neither does 95% of the FreeRepublic, and 100% of the media. But I am not going to second guess those who we've charged with the task of interrogation.

The real setback we will have in this is if we force our MPs to tread lighter on these meatpuppets. We need to know what they know, and we need to know it as fast as possible. Their self esteem, and the honor of the Arab world be damned.
