No, absolutely nothing like Jesse Ventura.
Ventura was a decorated Vietnam Veteran (though he didn’t bring it up in every speech). He was a popular entertainer, who didn’t alienate large portions of the electorate with baseless emotional screeds. Any onscreen altercations he had were staged and done in a spirit of fun. His political opinions were mostly in line with a large majority of the electorate, both in Minnesota and nationally. He was a very likeable and straight-talking personality. He also served as mayor of one of Minnesota’s largest cities for four years.
In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find an example of somebody less like Jesse Ventura than Al Franken.
