""During the custody case no matter what Mom did, I was held to a higher bar," Holland said. "I don't care what people say. The system still treats women differently than men."

That is true.

You're right..........and there probably won't be any major changes in the other direction in the short run.

Not exactly something new. From 1987-1991 I worked in child support enforcement for the state of Missouri, and obtained - and enforced - plenty of child support orders against women. The non-custodial parent's sex was of no concern to our office - just his or her legal obligation to support the children.

I have read that statistically, mothers also have a much poorer record for non-payment of support. We hear a lot about "deadbeat dads" but not much about non-supporting mothers. It is a shame that the percentage of fathers who financially abandon their children lead to a perception that slanders the many, many responsible fathers who pay child support consistently. I suspect that the reason mothers have a much poorer payment record is that it seems so "unfair" to them that, as the mother, they have to pay. The feminists ought to get out there and demand that non-supporting mothers be prosecuted vigorously. Equal treatment is very important!

I got custody of my boys when they were 10 & 12. My ex ran off with a guy making more than a half mil a year, and she was an R.N. (after I put her through 7 years of college). She not only did not pay any support for her kids, she didn't even send them Christmas or birthday presents. Just screwed with their heads occasionally.

I've never known personally a mother who ever paid child support. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it must be quite statistically rare.

The whole support system is beyond broken, its staffed by man-hating b!tches who will hound the hell out of any guy they even think is behind ten minutes with a child support payment. I used to work as a title officer, and when I had to call WA support enforcement for information on a child support lien, I was treated quite rudely. I'd usually have a woman employee of the company call for the information, and they would eagerly give it to her. All we were trying to do was help them collect!

The system in Milwaukee County is corrupt and evil. In a nutshell

I'm in Mil-wacky too and I've heard some horror stories about the system, especially towards fathers fighting for custody.

"It was pure sexism," said John Hayes, ...

"Courts recognized that the Ozzie and Harriet model was out of style," Short said.

You just can't say enough to the Bozos who think in groups rather than individuals. Women have worked outside the home for a long, long time. Some women. And there are still women who stay home to take care of the kids.

Nothing has screwed up domestic relations more than when the groupies were allowed to take control. Now we're all supposed to pick which stereotype we prefer.

I am a non custodail mom in Texas , I pay my child support on time and I,m even a month up on payments . When my EX Hubby was the one making payments he was always late & he was far behind until he took me to court. I for one think Mom,s should pay child support for the fact that they brought the child into the world same as Dad did !!! Two people made the child so two people should take care of & raise the child . Mom,s who say they shouldn,t pay support < shaking head > are out of touch with the real world , in my view.
