What the article dosn't have is the reaction from my imbecile Congresscritter Ed "Fast Eddie" Markey (D)Mass., who blames this tragedy on the Republican Congress.

Poor Ed Markey, when the 'rats controled the House he was a big shot Chairman. Now his big issue is amusement park safety.

I wonder if this death was caused by the ADA.

I'm with you on that...what a desperate act to blame this on the Republicans. One of the most pathetic partisan attacks ive ever heard. I guess im not surprised and Im sure no one else on here is.

industry officials said Monday that the statistical chance of dying on a ride is one in 760 million. If we can save but one life by spending $200 million to commission a study to determine the safety of T-bar restraints and impose a government mandate requiring amusment park owners to modify rides with T-bar restraints it will be all worth it.

A lot of press here about this here. The mother want's to know how they could let him on the ride, duh. The law is clear in such matters. A traggic accident but I'm guessing she'd be the 1'st one to complain if they hadn't let him on.

I remember something similar happening over 20 years ago. At the time it was established that if the person was short and over a certain weight, the centrifigal force popped them out of the ride like a piece of popcorn. I kid you not. But then again, I did read this over 20 years ago! :)
