I hope you're right, but I was expecting the big backlash to come against Hillary Clinton, especially after her sloppy kiss with Arafat's wife, the "effing jew bastard" comment, etc. but in the end she beat Lazio 56 to 43 in the Jewish vote.

I don't know what it will take to get that voting block to move into the Republican column, but I hope they do soon.

Is this so? I have been told on FR that she didn't do that well among Jewish voters.

Wouldn't matter if Kerry was aka "Arafat"--he'll still get the Jewish vote, which is mostly liberal. A few conservatives won't--hope that helps in Fla.

Kind of sad--like (liberal) Jews want Israel to go belly-up, like Israel is an embarrassment to them.

John Kerry's Florida Platform: I was Jewish before I became Catholic. I'm not Jewish, it was someone in my Family that was Jewish. They were "just" my mother and my father. But they weren't Jewish enough to stay Jewish when they came to the USA. I wasn't there but I was told that at that time it was not good to be a Jew in Boston it was better to be a Catholic. It would have been different if the Family lived in Palm Beach County then I would be Jewish and not Catholic. My family didn't give me a choice. Yes, I take communion I am also circumcised. And I have a Bible that has both the Old and the New Testaments.

Clearly you're of the glass half empty persuasion.

A 56-43 margin of Jewish voters is about the same as Hillary's state margin, not much of an issue as a "voting bloc". Gore carried the Jewish vote in NY State about 80-20. A third of New Yorks Jewish democratic voters crossed over to vote for Lazio, more likely to vote against Hillary. I'm not sure that's anything to complain about.
