Strength/weight means little when weight is near zero. Aerogel has little strength, can barely hold itself together.

NASA image of 2 gram block of aerogel supporting a 2.5 kilogram brick. Space program is currently using it on a probe to capture comet particles moving at 38 miles/second, which is what got me thinking about other very fast-moving particles in this thread's context
