...and making the sure the elements of the "secret war", aren't using the ops. to settle old scores...otherwise we're back to square one, therefore our intel. must be as complete as possible...w/ more agents on the ground.
Damn Jimmah Cartar/Sen Intel. Comm....w/ their destruction of the intel. services during Cartar's term. :/
Iraq is an environment demanding of many compromises on all levels. No one will ever be completely satisfied with the outcome of our mission there. But Iraq is still better now than it was before, anti-American propaganda notwithstanding.
When I propose that a large percentage of the work needed to bring Iraq in line must be done by covert means, it is with a great deal of gratitude that I can affirm that I don't know the details. I'm not sure I would want to.
While we enjoy the luxury of idly pontificating on how best to win the war, men and women far better than I are facing the very real challenges of actually doing it. Whenever I make some "helpful suggestion", it is always with the knowledge of this fact firmly fixed in my mind.
In addition to members of the uniformed services, the best America has ever fielded, many of the "shadow warriors" whose efforts may well decide the outcome of the mission in Iraq will never receive public recognition for their gallantry and sacrifices, in accordance with the terms of their employment.
But I know they are doing just that, right now, and though I know not a one of them, I will never forget them.
We've only have 24 years to fix it. Those Demorats really burn me.
