The island is owned by the family and they pay little or no property taxes as the use of the island is deemed agricultural by the local authorities. Taxes are for the "little people."

Sounds like a property tax loophole that desperately needs to be closed (or at least exploited by the Republicans to illustrate the Left's hypocrisy)!
