May 3, 2004 -- The Senate race branched off in an unexpected direction yesterday. GOP Assemblyman Howard Mills, who is hoping to unseat Sen. Charles Schumer, said he'll plant 25 trees "to make up for the ones that were killed to print the press releases printed by Chuck Schumer in 2003."

He works on Saturdays? I thought Schumer was Jewish.

Yes, but he'll put his religious beliefs aside for "the people" just as Kerry does when he supports abortion and gay marriage.
