I have a Pentium II 300 mhz with 256 megs ram... will XP help or hinder? I hate this Windows 98.

Your machine does not have enough power or memory to run XP. Also, if you hate 98, XP will make you want to kill the world.

It'll probably be OK. I'm trying out XP on a 233MHz machine with just 64MB of RAM. It's definitely slower than the same machine running W98SE and definitely a RPITA with all of it's smarmy multitudinous "reminders" about this and that.
