I don't recall spinning anything, anyway. You seem to think our marines were incapable of taking Fallujah. Wrongo. Big time. And "the Ba'athists" being back in is a result of having slim pickings to choose from, when looking for senior army officers among the Iraqis. Cherry picking from a rotten orchard. Personally, I think it's a really good idea. Let the Iraqis see that they have a choice between accepting American largesse, or having the former regime back!
