That would really be something, i.e.; "Right Wing Conspiracy", owned by Free Republic Farms. Would never work. You have to run to the left to win.
To: I still care
"I wonder if he (Imperialism) would have won if he hadn't gotten bumped and ended up next to last. He came all the way up."
Gosh I don't know. My dad sure thinks so (have him on the phone now). He's usually right, but Smarty looks like he doesn't want to be beaten.

I don't know. I know Secretariat lost one race I think prior to the Derby. Other than that undefeated and his final race was the Canadian International in Toronto. That race may hold a record for most uncashed winning tickets in history.

Yeah, I wonder what Secretariat's odds were by then...1/5?
To: gov_bean_ counter
Oh....in that instance I think Northern Dancer is by far the most successful.

Tapit gets a pint of Guinness every day.Ireland's Eddie MacKen, made the custom famous by giving his great derby horse, "Boomerang", a pint o'Guinness every day.

Yes, but I think the Thoroughbred naming rules say no more than 3 words in the name. At least it used to say that.

Imp might be >a bit< stronger BUT as you say SJ just doesn't to lose. Add to that a great d\ride by SJ's jock and I really thing it could be 3T.

I googled "Secretariat" and got a www.secretariat.com site. I saw somewhere in there where the bets couldn't go below a certain range, like 1:20 - the details are better on the site than my memory.

Yup. So for the Belmont, he'll be my favorite with Imp second.
My dad says tho, that we have to be careful not to overestimate Smarty because we saw him pull away from Lion Heart like he did. He says that had as much to do with Lion Heart's penchant for losing heart and stamina as it did Smarty's ability/determination.
But I gotta pick a bit differently than dad or he takes all the credit, lol.

Secretariat was a great horse;...Secretariat was on the cover of TIME magazine, 11 June,'73, as the "Super Horse".
One of the few times, TIME, was correct.

It's VAST Right Wing ConspiracyI know, but its too long a name and it is a reference to Hillary. I'd like to leave her out, bad luck.
