What do you think an eagle does to a cow? It removes strips of flesh for several days. Maybe you misunderstand me. It does this while the cow or sheep is alive and walking around until it bleeds to death, going into shock, or dies from infection.

All these classic animal mutilation stories are classic predation in the food chain.

The public has just become so far removed by urban utopia, they have no understanding of the cruel mistress nature is.

WRONG.

You have evidently not read very significantly in the subject.

New Mexico's congressman, now dead, as I recall--S. . .

headed a serious investigation into it. The report, as I recall, was rather muted and hushed up rather than to cause alarm. It was clear it was not from predation.

For one, there have been DOZENS of sightings of the later dumped and mutilated bovine's being lifted in beams of light . . . by credible, responsible citizens well respected and trusted in their communities.

It would seem to me that experienced ranchers and thier veteranerians and other locals who own livestock or who work around them and live in ranching areas know about this. Common sense says that they know the difference between death from predation as you describe it and "cattle mutilation" as we have come to hear about. It seems that death from predation has already been ruled out and that's the mystery of it.
