"The frail, snowy haired general, who was a teacher and dabbled in journalism before becoming revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh's top commander, peppered long stories about Dien Bien Phu with anecdotes and jokes."

The foundation which the liberals rely upon "teachers" and "journalists" same method as all other commies.

Wonder if JFKerry keeps in contact with the "French" speaking communist military mastermind General Vo Nguyen Giap?

"I would like to thank them," the 93-year-old veteran said on Friday of those Americans who opposed the war.

That says it all.

Let's hope that Giap's next rare public appearance won't be at a Kerry inauguration . . .

Each nation should have the right to independence

Of course how can anyone argue with that? But it is NOT an absolute, as Germany and Japan have demonstrated. I believe IRAQ, falls into that catagory given the 17 resolutions, the COMPLETE disregard for their UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER and the 911 aftermath that made pre-emptive action mandatory.

Each nation should have the right to independence. But independence was not what Saddam was giving the nation of Iraq. Now at least they have a chance.

I'd like for him to see a picture of Michael Moore, but at the General's age, it just wouldn't be right.

... communist military mastermind General Vo Nguyen Giap...of course, Giap's lustre was dimmed somewhat after the Tet Offensive, which was actually such a disastrous loss for the North Vietnamese that he was eased out of his command position within a few months - the North Vietnamese knew how badly their cause had been injured - only imbeciles like Walter Cronkite thought they had beaten us decisively and the war was for us unwinnable.....

I suppose the troll we had on the Kerrry VietNam thread earlier hasn't heard about this either.

Any forces that wish to impose their will on other nations will surely fail,"

"Each nation should have the right to independence,"

Like all elites, the "except for me and my actions" rule obviously applies to the kindly old general.

"Any forces that wish to impose their will on other nations will surely fail."

"Each nation should have the right to independence," he said in an ornate French colonial style government guest house in the capital, Hanoi."

"he broke into fluent French when a question was posed in that language.

Seems like the frogs did quite a number on his own country considering this report.

"The four-star general, who also led Vietnam to a stunning defeat against the French army 50 years ago at Dien Bien Phu, declined to be drawn on comparisons between the U.S. war in his country, that ended in 1975, and the U.S. involvement in Iraq. "

I thought it was a stunning victory. Am I wrong??
