Have not noticed Koppell being concerned about our Military who are alive and fighting the fight. . .
Too bad; I hope this puts a lid on it for Nightline.

If anyone's got Hannity's ear, maybe they can suggest he or Oliver North do an hour of all the people killed on 911. Apparently Koppel's memory is as short as the Iraqis'.

Sinclair knows why koppel is doing this.
He is trying to stir up public opinion against the troops.

Koppel said if his show has received requests from parents asking him not to name their children, he's not aware of it.
What, me worry?

Why does McCain sound so much like JFKerry?
These leftists are still ticked off about President Bush using the most holy day in Communism, May Day, a year ago to welcome home that carrier.
Using the names and faces of those who gave the ultimate price seeking revenge. Still trying to recreate the "vietnam syndrome" "reenacting" the ploy that LIFE magazine used all those years ago.
To: jmstein7
If they were also reading the names of those who died in Afganistan, and the Cole (ship) and a few other places, it might be more credible.
Since it is just Iraq, it is trying to embarass George Bush.

"Koppel Insists He's 'Reminding' Americans of War Dead"
Really? That's seems to be the only thing the American public is told about what is going on in Iraq.
As the Bush administration made clear at the onset of the WOT, there will be a cost in blood and treasure. But to focus solely on the cost to the exclusion of the benefit gained, is to demean the cause that our war dead died for.

It would take way more than an hour to read the 9/11 days.
We did that at our school and it took 8 hours non-stop (I contributed a good fifteen minutes - nearly broke into tears).
But yes, that's a brilliant idea.

Or maybe a hour about the life of Pat Tillman, who actually cared about the U.S., instead of the leftist Talking Head with an agenda.

Koppel is having himself an LSD flashback.
He thinks it is going to be some great Vietnam moment.
Someone needs to tell him the 1970s are over...
Though with the campaign of John Kerry, I can see why he may have gotten confused.
In reality, no one is going to watch, and ABC will have blown a whole friday night during sweeps week.

"It is, in short, sir, unpatriotic. I hope it meets with the public opprobrium it most certainly deserves," he concluded. My public opprobium is directed at useful idiots like you Senator McCain.
If the show and Koppel were not political, our fallen soldiers in Afghanistan and elsewhere would be included.
And by the way Senator McCain, when will Ted and the boys be showing images of Americans jumping out windows in the WTC, of the dead on the USS COle, the fallen in Mogadishu and Bosnia?
And just who the hell are you McCain to set yourself up as the Supreme Court of Patriotism?

A little tidbit re: Ted K, heard a Fox commentator mention that Ted was not available to talk to Fox about his tribute , but he somehow did have time to go on AirRant America earlier today, for some reason, Go figure. ;-)

Koppel on Hannity Radio Program has picked up the Kerry line: 'They are questioning my patriotism.'

I think it is called "Courage" title of his book. McCain is just like the liberals he believes he is "special" he is owed!
Personally, I believe that he is proof "brainwashing" works!
To: TheDon
Koppel's pretty up front about his anti war agenda. Doesn't even claim he's honoring the heroes. Says America is unaware and he is going to "remind" us. How does he figure? Considering Tillman's death in Afghanistan highlights the fighting there, why leave out Afghanistan? Because the libs claim they support Afghanistan. they only want to "remind" us of the Iraq "mistake."
has anyone forgotten Koppel's war coverage from Kuwait was the most anti American? How about last night's show casting aspersions on Bush relying on Cheney? That's straight out of Kerry's theme of the week. Dick Clarke is now an "ABC News Commentator!" Puleeeze

I dropped in on DU, and, surprise, surprise - there were no less than
20 threads bashing Sinclair.
Here's my favorite - This is Sinclair, the company that thinks Ted Koppel is politicizing news.
Can we call a barf alert on this? Yikes...
Interesting, though, that they would feel the need to bash Sinclair for blocking Nightline. If it were really to remind Americans "why we're there" then surely they'd be applauding the move and bashing Koppel instead (and, irony of ironies, would probably accuse him of treason). Things to think on...

newsman Ted Koppel said he thinks Americans need to be 'reminded' of what is going on in Iraq. Did Koppel read a list of the Serbian war dead who lost their lives from Clinton's bombs...to remind us all of what was going on in Eastern Europe?
(crickets chirping)
Didn't think so.
