WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Rep. John Kline (R-MN) issued the following statement regarding John Kerry's impending visit to Minnesota:
"John Kerry may bring his rhetoric to our state on Monday, but he cannot hide from his voting record. John Kerry is out of step on every issue important to Minnesotans.
"After a career in the Marine Corps, I know the importance of supporting our troops in the field. Senator Kerry voted for the war in Iraq but voted against the $87 billion supplemental to provide our troops with armor, the equipment needed to win and proper funding. Sen. Kerry voted against supplying and his political approach to the War on Terror should trouble every Minnesotan.
"His call for more than $1.9 trillion in new government spending is the wrong prescription for our recovering economy. The President's pro-growth policies are to thank for the GDP increase announced yesterday and the 308,000 jobs created last month. Kerry's promise to raise taxes would derail our state's economic recovery."

Great! While it's still a bit chilly up here, I will dig out my flip-flops for the day. Let's see if he confers with Carter's foreign policy expert, Walter Mondale. If only we had listened to Carter and Mondale, we would have offered to hug a terrorist, the UN, and sent a lame mission to Iraq.

John Kline...one of the few younger members of congress in either party who was man enough to serve in uniform. We need more John Klines and fewer Jeb Bradleys.

Anyone know if Kerry brings his own personal audience with him when he appears at a campaign stop?

I know that these pro-Bush press statements don't usually get a lot of play, but it amazes me that these 'pubbies come out of the woodwork to help Bush and Kerry has virtually no one speaking for him. He's got no friends--he's making up his strategy as he goes along--so even politicians that would like to help don't know what to say.
I heard Hillary! trying to parrot that Bush is "stubborn" and exposing our troops to danger, but I think she just wants it known that she said something for Kerry. It probably won't happen again.

I was a lowly Army reservist. I wonder if that is "Okay" with Sir John Kerry.

I've had the priviledge of meeting and talking to Rep. Kline on a few occassions. He is great man.
You know the expression, if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. If I was elected to Congress, I don't think I'd be as happy with what I would have done as I have been with how Rep. Kline has represented Minnesota.

Senator Kerry voted for the war in Iraq but voted against the $87 billion supplemental to provide our troops with armor, the equipment needed to win and proper funding. This seems like such a simple statement, and it's been repeated over and over. But it needs to be repeated even more because it says it all.
