Thought it was! When I was at university, my boyfriend and I broke up by flinging Jackson Browne and Bob Dylan lyrics at each other. One of us used that line ("or a variation thereof")!
Don't know about the others, but this hummingbird s-l-o-w-s down on Fridays and just lays around the shanty!

Browne gets a solid nod for the Pretender ("I'm going to be a happy idiot and struggle for the legal tender") but Dylan pretty much ends the match with the entirety of the Watchtower. ("'there must be some kind of way outta here,' said the Joker to the Thief")
