May God bless your family ... he has already blessed our nation with the likes of heroes such as you, Nick!
I prayed that he would remain here on earth to finish his mission in life..to inspire and give strength to others.
I'm so grateful for wonderful people like you and your husband. You both have given me strength and inspiration.
Please tell Nick because of men like him I've never been prouder to be an American. Thank you just doesn't seem like enough. My friends and I work to spread the good news from Iraq and keep those we know and people we meet focused on why Iraq's liberation is so important for our county's security. We will stay focused on support for the troops and the mission. Nick, all the brave fighting troops and their families at home are our George Baileys' (my favorite movie, btw), we wouldn't be who we are if they weren't the courageous, unselfish people they are.
My nephew will ship out to Iraq in November. He's in the Mojave Desert right now training to learn how to conduct check points with cars and sweep buildings. He's been accepted into driving school and hopes to be trained to drive a Bradley tank. His mom is worried but very proud as are we all.
May God's blessings be endless for your family.
Here's a recent picture that makes me smile, hope it gives you and Nick a smile too.
Give the Gunny my best. He's a credit to our beloved Corps.

You folks make my heart swell with pride and honor.
Prayers for a continued healing process and bless you all.
God Bless Cee-gar Man and family!
I just found this thread, it was linked to a new story about the hero's homecoming
