April 30, 2004 -- In a stunning snub, two Democrats on the 9/11 commission yesterday abruptly walked out in the middle of the Oval Office interview with President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. Both early-departing panelists, former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey and ex-Indiana Rep. Lee Hamilton, insisted they had prior commitments - but their sudden slip out the side door of the White House left Washington and some fellow commission members in shock.

So blowhard Bob Kerry, faced this choice:

1) National Security
2) Raising Cold Cash

And he chose the cash over national security. That speaks volumes!

The session began at 9:30 a.m. and ended at 12:40 p.m., without any breaks or interruptions.

Herein lies the truth. Kerrey had to make wee-wee and couldn't hold it any longer. Since he could not perform for the cameras during questioning, he simply continued on after his potty run. < /sarcasm>

Looking back, I'm glad the Commmission held public hearings. We were able to see the partisan peacocks preen themselves before the cameras and, this public preening only served to show the American people that this bunch is not at all serious about the charge that has been given them. Had the proceedings been kept private, we would have been tempted to take their final recommendations seriously. We also would not have learned about the Gorelick hypocrisy. Now, we can take them and their recommendations as we should...with a grain of salt. They have been totally discredited.

Yep, the whole idea was to diss (disrespect) the testimony of GWBush and Dick Cheney. To imply their testimony is worthless, untruthful. A fine show by these two "thick as a brick" DemocRATS.

How true. I wouldn't trust Democrats the ensure the security of a dog house, let alone the United States of America. They are craven appeasers and godless socialists same as the clowns who run Spain today. Yes, the Democrat party is all about more and more government regulation, government handouts, rule by bureaucrats and socialism.

You know, I can barely accept Lee Hamilton's excuse, since he was introducing the Canadian PM.

But I absolutely refuse to believe that if Bob Kerrey had called Pete Domenici he couldn't have re-scheduled that meeting.

But I'm guessing the priority amongst most of the commissioners has less to do with the sitting president, and more to do with protecting the "legacy" of the preceding one.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

The general disrepect for our government and other people can be attributed to the conduct of Clinton.

We ask our sports figures and entertainment figures to be role models for our children, yet defend a president who had the morals of an alley cat. Now we have a president who is honorable and sets a good role model and the dims are doing everything they can to bring him and our country down.

If those on the commission are the best our country has to offer as statesmen, we are truly in trouble. They are not interested in what can be done to prevent another terrorist attack. It's clear they are trying to find a smoking gun to use against the re-election of President Bush. If they can't set the tone and posture on TV, they don't want to be there.

I'm glad the hearings were televised too. We were able to see the animosity and disdain they had for anyone in the Bush administration. The Gorelik smirk, Kerrey repeatedly calling Dr. Rice Dr.Clark, and the other actions of this panel should be a part of a Bush ad to dispute the "findings" of this panel when they put the blame on this administration.

The dims will only be happy when we are attacked again so they can say we told you so.

"The White House said it would be over by 11:30 a.m.," Kerrey said, adding that the meeting was for an important school project, but he refused to disclose it.

Does anyone doubt that if President Bush had abruptly called an end to the meeting at 11:30 a.m., Kerry would have had his spot on the evening news, crying "cover-up" and telling how he wasn't allowed to ask all of his questions?

Honestly, I can't even get worked up over this one. The Chairman excused them (Kerrey for certain, anyway), so any criticism should be leveled at Kean, not Kerrey or Hamilton. But it sounds as if it was handled appropriately.

Well, I am not exactly incensed. However, it does show that this is not necessarily their number one priority.

First smile of the morning for me is learning that the commissioners were frisked before entering the Oval Office and their notebooks were taken as they left.....to be returned later after reviewing for classified information.

What about the notebooks of Hamilton and Kerrey?

I can't. Meeting with the president and vice president of the U.S. on such a profoundly important subject is far more important introducing a foreign government official to a group of people who already knows who he is.

The excuses given that Kerrey and Hamilton didn't know the meeting would run so long are idiotic on the face of it. They should have anticipated the possibility that it would run long, and not scheduled other meetings for the same day. Their Commission duties are paramount, or the Commission is a joke. Guess we've just found out which of those statements are true for Commissioners Kerrey and Hamilton.

You're probably correct. What's interesting to me is Tom Kean -- they asked to leave and he let them go, probably in full knowledge that this sort of publicity is what would happen.

Kerrey's been a real pain in the butt, showboating and preening. He needed to be slapped down -- how better than to allow him do something that's obviously stupid, and thereby slap himself down?

Kerrey said he thought the White House meeting would only last until 11:30 a.m., and so he'd scheduled a meeting with Domenici for a half-hour later at the Capitol

Yeah, I know I'd schedule an appointment for a half-hour after I was meeting with the President.

Disgraceful, disgusting behavior.

"yet defend a president who had the morals of an alley cat"

With all due respect, I've known many alley cats in my time and your statement is an insult to alley cats the world over - even French ones. I can attest that their morals are much higher than William Jefferson Blythe Clinton's ever could or would be.

Now a Chicago River Rat, or other such vermin, that would be a good comparison.

(just joshing you)
