I think as big a story was Scarborough's first piece about Bush not asking Rumsfeld's opinion about going to war. He amped that story up to such a degree that I had to turn him off. I'm afraid this might be trouble for Bush.

What? This is why I don't watch his show.

I take it he took that from Chris Matthews' interview with Rumsfeld today.

Why would you think it would be trouble for Bush, though? You can't expect the president to act in a manner to anticipate every lie or spin thrown his way.

If you watch the Matthews/Rumsfeld interview it is plain that even though that's the angle Matthews played up, that was not the point and Rumsfeld gave a very detailed accounting here. It was ridiculous the way Matthews characterized it and very shallow. Rumsfeld painted a picture of a CiC who consulted him on the readiness of our ability to wage war---not IF we should go. And Rumsfeld said there is zero doubt the president made the right decision. Sounds right to me.
