It's extraordinarily rare that I'll talk about the subject because I don't like to think of my childhood & teens. I spent so many years willing myself not to remember them that they are but an evanescent blur to me now even when I try. It's actually quite an interesting experience when some vivid memory will burst into consciousness after not having remembered it since then.

You are not alone. That is exactly my feelings about childhood (including teen years). It's almost as if my childhood happened to a different person. Other than my immediate family, I have had no contact with other people from that part of my life. I try not to think about it and have pretty much put it behind me.

I'd be more sorry for any neighborhood kids that might call his son a "dork". Wonder if they'd get the "rat poison" treatment after being called "sick cruel sadistic stupid ignorant SOBs"? Just be glad he's not your neighbor.

You've been a real dick on this thread to someone I know and can vouch for personally off this forum.

You should be ashamed and apologize.

What's worse is you're a homeboy cut from my own southern cloth and you've emabarrassed me as well.

Never make fun of what a parent has to go thru with a long suffering or terrified confused child. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing "ha-ha" about that.

I'm suprised at you....I wish this had not happened.

Of all the threads on FR,
WHY do you find this one attractive?

Apparently, you get a twisted thrill
out of insulting fellow FReepers and
making sick comments about their children.
Shame on you.

Though I did have a lot of slightly answers (vs definitely answers) and a handful of those were borderline between agree & disagree..

If I switch all the 'borderline' answers I would've had a 38-41.

Thank you so much for posting this article. Rush did explain more and took several callers today on the broadcast , and I was able to understand his feelings a bit more.

If this is the story Rush was talking about, no wonder he made fun of it, it is begging to be made fun of. It reads less like a serious article on a subject and more than a coming out pity party and people making excuses for themselves.

Yes, this is the story, and I understand why Rush was amused at the article, however he came across as making fun of Aspergers instead of the article, at least to me. He cleared that up some today.

Like I said, you're a sick cruel bastard. Go pull wings off of flies. Go light a cat on fire. Go kick the crutches from under a cripple. You know, the other things you do for fun.

Lots of AS parents say that it's much easier to have a child in a wheelchair. At least your child gets sympathy. All too often, AS kids only get scorn, ridicule, humiliation, and shunning. (As you can see even on this thread.) The psychic pain leads to a depth of depression which children should not have to suffer.

What's the matter, can't take a "joke?"

Lighten up is what you told me, right? Told me to "stop whinning?"

What goes around comes around, what, you don't have a sense of humor?
