Hunt's family members are also hurting. They want more answers from police..."I'm not necessarily mad at her, but I don't know enough. Why unload the gun on him?" Uh, maybe because he was brandishing a weapon in a home, thereby warranting lethal force?

Its too bad she had to go through such an experience.
But then, this Hunt character always had the option of choosing to not break the law.

Very good article. Brings out the very real issues and emotion I imagine having if this ever happens to me.
I do know I would do it, but I think most sane people will by haunted by it for a time, even when they are right. Maybe even especially if they are right.

"Autopsy reports indicate he was shot in the head multiple times. He never fired his weapon." Nice shooting.

I think a lot of people don't realize what happens in a lethal force self-defense situation. I have read that many will unload the gun and only remember the first shot. It's just instinct.

Why unload the gun on him?"Friggin anti-gun libs just don't understand, do they. They project calm rational thought during a life and death chaotic situation. Simpletons all......

When Hunt's funeral took place a week later at Swanson Funeral Home on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit, Holland closed her shop.
"I did it out of respect for his family," she said. "I don't know them, but I thought it was the right thing to do." People killed comitting crimes should not be buried.
The law should require their bodies to be tossed in a toxic landfill and left to rot.
Or perhaps the dogfood industry could .....

Why unload the gun on him?So he couldn't testify against her in court?
To: Kieri
This lady is really something. Cops said she fired 6 rounds, 3 of them into the guy's mellon.
She had just fallen on her butt, was under extreme duress, likely terrified, yet still put half her rounds where they counted. This lady had some training at some point, and that's great.
And yes, it is unfortunate that someone had to die. And yes, she will remember it forever.
But she will be alive to ruminate on it.
To: paul51
double tap is always a safe bet...she took it one step further....
proof that the ccw does indeed save lives....my condolences to his kids...I really hope they learn from this and do not follow their fathers foolish mistakes.

Then be prepared to give up your gun.She can still keep it at home, but she'll have to register it with the state gov't if she wants to import it into the state.
She won't be able to carry it with her, which is what saved her (because she had it from the time she left her business to when she arrived at her house).
