There are some people who move to the country and then feel the need to kill any wildlife they see trespassing there.

Killing just to kill is wrong, but if that thing was tearing up my yard, I would kill it. I have moles on my property and they do a number on the lawn if you don't control them. A number on the lawn drives down the value of the house...so the moles must die.

I have moles from time to time too. I don't hold them as a thing of wonder, but I gave up on the manicured lawn when I moved out here and don't freak out about them any more either. Once in a while the dog gets one, but I think the dog does more damage digging it up than the mole did ;~D
