Was Scooter the Leaker? [Plame CIA leak]

"Those hoping to solve the mystery of who leaked the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame...won't find a clear answer in the new book by" Joe Wilson.
In his book "Wilson points to" VP Cheney's "chief of staff, Lewis 'Scooter' Libby, as 'quite possibly the person who exposed my wife's identity.'"
Wilson also claims "that a 'workup' on his background was done by the White House in March 2003 after his public criticism of Iraq policy. 'The other name that has most often been repeated to me...is that of Elliott Abrams.'"
And he still thinks Rove may have done it.
"'The workup on me that turned up the information on Valerie was shared with Karl Rove, who then circulated it in administration and neoconservative circles," Wilson alleges."

Didn't I read somewhere that Wilson never submitted a WRITTEN report? Correct me if I'm wrong.
To: Gothmog
Gee, I sure hope "JOE WILSON" has identified who it was that sent him "yellowcake" hunting in the first place!!!!!
That is the real story and I do hope we finally learn that bit of info, maybe it was Richard Clarke who put his name in the hat and maybe it was Richard Clarke who told Novak about his wife!!!

"Joseph Wilson" is none other than.... Johnny Cash? As I understand it, he shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.

Really? This has been reported in the press. If you go to fec.gov you can search individual donations. When you enter in "Wilson" and "Valerie" you'll find one of those entries listed as contributing $1,000 to Gore from a DC address. When you click on the link to the image you can see the actual fec report with her and her husband listed as both donating from that same address. The employer she listed was her CIA cover.
Here's a link to the image.

Also, Tenet, knew nothing about Wilson's trip until afterwards. As usual, you are correct.
From my link at #33:
In an effort to inquire about certain reports involving Niger, CIA's counter-proliferation experts, on their own initiative, asked an individual with ties to the region to make a visit to see what he could learn.

You are NOT wrong.

This guy is such a loser. Why promote his BS book, and the rest of his BS? He's had his 15 minutes of fame, forget him.
To: Gothmog
Don't misunderstand. I was not doubting you, but I have been following this story and know virtually all the details.
I had not heard about the check to Gore, though. Or I didn't remember it.
With so much news going on, some will inevitably fail to make it across one's radar. Now that I read the link I do recall reading about the Brewster-Jennings employer listing.
Thanks!

She's a partisan and so is Wilson, and they are lying about her "cover" being blown by Bush, Cheney, Rove, Libby, or anyone in the WH. Especially with their absurd story that her name was "leaked" in order to hurt them.
Absurd.

No problem, glad I could help.

I thought this clown's 15 minutes of fame were over and done... same for his "undercover" wife. How many copies will this really sell? Few in my opinion.

Thanks for corroborating that tidbit! For such an important "mission" he surely SHOULD have left a paper trail. Can we say, then, that his was an informal visit...all that tea drinking, you know.

That is a great link.
Do you have all of these links and the actual articles stored on your computer or a server?
I hope so, as they will disappear some day. I'm surprised that this CNN link is still up and available.
You have done a great job collecting the data on the Yellow Cake scam by Wilson/Plame and the Washington Post.

He never submitted a written report that got to Tenent.
That was documented somewhere here on FR.

Gothmog, what an incredible find.
Gentlemen, this needs to be in your index files on the Plame/Wilson/Clarke/Foley Yellow Cake Scam.

If her activities were undermining this administration, I have to question that any alleged "cover" was being blown. I have been convinced for quite awhile that the Wilsons and their allies (not their enemies, as they are now claiming) informed journalists of her affiliation in order to account for and justify why Wilson of all people went to Niger, ostensibly at the behest of the administration (which was also false).
I think she or her former boss, Alan Foley, was the anonymous "CIA official" who was leaking about the Wilson trip and presenting a distorted and untruthful picture of it.
In my mind a CIA official that would lie about such a thing was not engaged in any work that would aid our country.
White House 'warned over Iraq claim'
Excerpts:
Doubts about a claim that Iraq had tried to buy uranium from the African state of Niger were aired 10 months before Mr Bush included the allegation in his key State of the Union address this year, a CIA official has told the BBC.
~snip~
Now the CIA official has told the BBC that Mr Wilson's findings had been passed onto the White House as early as March 2002.
~end excerpts~
Now, as my link at #33 demonstrates, first, it is a flat out lie that Wilson had "findings", and second, it is a lie that these non-existant "findings" were "passed onto the White House".
I have to ask myself why a "CIA official" would speak with a foreign propaganda organ like the BBC to lie about the Bush administration.
Further, since the WH did not know about Wilson's trip, they can hardly have leaked who sent him on it.
