Propane tanks, or so they say anyway. The container was not properly labled.

I live in this area. I didn't hear the explosion, but I did hear lots of sirens.

Port of Los Angeles Container Explodes At Port Of Los Angeles
No Injuries, Blast Believed To Be Accidental

SAN PEDRO (CBS) An explosion ruptured the top and back of a 20-foot truck container at the Port of Los Angeles on Wednesday, shortly before the steel box was due to be loaded onto a ship bound for Micronesia, authorities said.

"Some type of explosion" took place about 1:30 p.m. inside the container at berth 136, said Jim Wells of the city fire department. He said the container contained food products.

There were no injuries but up to 150 longshore workers were pulled off the job due to concerns about the explosion, according to a television report.

The LAPD bomb squad checked the truck after the blast, then left after labeling it an accident.
