The bottom line is:

Do you want the interrogators to do EVERYTHING to get info fast, which may safe the lives of dozens or hundreds of US servicement, or do you want to worry about the rights of the terrorists and the hell with our servicemen?

It's a sad commentary that our soldiers are being prosecuted.

Do you remember just recently an officer, a colonel(?), whom they were going to courtmartial because he shot a gun NEAR the prisoner and scared him into confessing info which saved many servicemen?

Bear in mind that CBS was looking for a story and just may have egged these guys on to "make it real", "show some real force", "make the enemy want to give up".

Some force is required or we would be "French". It is right to look into this, but let's not condemn the troops before they are heard.

I must disagree.

As soon as we detain an enemy combatant, we are bound by law and honour to adhere to the Geneva Conventions in word and spirit!

Failure to do so gives our enemies (and some "allies") all the ammunition they need to discredit us and the cause for which we fight.

These weren't interrogator, these were prison guards. They were acting in a manner unbecoming of US military personnel.

It's a sad commentary that our soldiers are being prosecuted.

No, it's a shame that they did not follow the training they received, and acted like a bunch of morons. These soldiers are a microcosm of our society. Thank God that the soldiers involved in this are NOT representative of the caliber of people in our military.

Do you remember just recently an officer, a colonel...

Apples and oranges. He was acting in the capacity of trying to save his own life, and the people under his command's lives. These people were acting like a$$holes, pure and simple.

With all due respect, building human pyramids, writing slurs on their bare skin, and posing them in mock sexual acts have nothing to do with getting information in a timely manner.

If it were just a case of sticking a gun in guys mouth to get life-saving info that is needed "RIGHT F'n NOW", then they'd have my blessing.

This is a case of sheer stupidity, and this kind of humiliating treatment tends to make prisoners clam-up rather than open-up. They defeated their own purpose and handed the enemy a propaganda victory they never could have achieved on their own.

If they did what they are accused of, they need to be punished, hard. I say that as a former Army officer. And whoever was their immediate supervisor needs to get the ax, too.

These sick soldiers weren't interrogating prisoners. They were doing perverted things to them purely for pleasure. Additionally, in doing so they've made things easier for the anti-war media and thus more difficult for our side.
