You are absolutely right, to maintain that a brokered or an open convention is a realistic possibility betrays gross ignorance of the mechanics of the modern nominating process.

Worse, there is every possibility that Kerry, far from the feckless candidate these posters assume he is, will in fact win a modest to a decisive victory.
