Kerry is meeting with all the black mayors in Philadelphia tomorrow. I am perplexed about that. How can there be a black caucus for politicians and black mayor club or whatever? I thought we grew out of division by race?

No doubt it is in some church, with some church service involved - which is also not appropriate but very common.

Have you ever been to Philly? I live a mere 7 miles from the city limits, and the racial divide is so bad it feels like being on the front lines of a war sometimes. After the L.A. riots we were stocking up ammunition -- a tidal wave of violence against us (implied, white) "suburbanites" seemed all but certain.
