I think some people are making a fundamental mistake here. Pundits, political handlers, and journalists don't like Kerry, but the rank and file of the party still does. The primaries prove that, and just because the guy turned out to be a poor candidate hasn't changed that. Yet.

It's too early to predict Kerry's demise in the Democratic party. That may change as the mistakes, flip-flops, and poor appearances mount, but I still think he has a lot of support at the voter level. The only way Kerry is leaving is through Clinton dirty tricks. Not impossible, but not so easy as people think. Kerry doesn't want to get thrown under the bus, and he won't go quietly. Why should he? He's not Torricelli.

The primaries didn't prove anything about the rank and file of the entire Democrat party. The primaries proved that no one was enthusiastic with any one of the candidates, and the low voter turnout proved that to be the case. One could make the argument that the majority of the rank and file weren't and still aren't enthusiastic. The only platform the Democrats ran on was Bush hatred, and personal hatred never wins elections.

Well, we don't know yet why he will go quietly. There are at least three reasonable possibilities, and I'm sure team Hillary has more:

1) The girl who went to Kenya to get "married" comes back (how many suburban JAPs have mafia boyfriends who live in Nairobi?)

2) The FBI surveillance logs from 1971-72 surface with some really, really bad news (Where have they been all this time, anyway?)

3) Kerry gets really, really quiet-for good.

"Kerry doesn't want to get thrown under the bus, and he won't go quietly."

I quite agree. Kerry is too arrogant, too much of an elitist, and he's top heavy with ego. Kerry will not go gently into that good night vis-a-vis the nomination. It will be a fun show to watch as the Dems attempt to dump Kerry, and he refuses to go.

The Clinton dirty tricks have already started and you are correct .. Kerry won't go down quietly

They real question is .. how will the moderate dems handle this all?

On another thread we discussed the lack of al Querry bumper stickers in many states. I have yet to see an al Querry sticker or yard sign in N. California or S. Oregon.

The sites that cover local donations show minimal if any donations for al Querry in N. California. Most of those who donated in the N. California area gave to Dean, Clark and then to al Querry. Liz and I discussed this on a thread that dealt with the new service to find political donatations.

In fact, I have yet to even see an al Querry pin worn by anyone out here.

I don't think that he has that much support among the rank and file of the lunatic left.

More important, he is not attracting the votes of the moderates and GW is not losing them.

In fact the only pro al Querry signs I have seen have come from Islamofascists like this one:

OK.... I fell better now, I think.

I sure don't want to see Hillary!
