Now we have the specter of Specter getting his revenge on Conservatives for the next 6 years. Saw him earlier tonight, he is going to be anything but magnanimous.

The one good thing that comes out of this is that we have a chance of a house seat pick up, and we have one less open seat to defend. Their will always be next time.

From now on, you're to be referred to as Mr. Sunshine

Specter is only "electable" if conservatives vote for him. After tonight, the Libertarian will get an unusually high percentage in the general.

...the specter of Specter getting his revenge on Conservatives for the next 6 years...

Posted this on all the other threads, guess I will here too.

Anyone else catch this on PCNC? Made me go HMMMMM!

PCNC...Arlen clinches the race and a cheer goes up from the crowd in the ballroom. Andy GAstmyer is interviewing former PA AG Roy Zimmerman...mentions to Zimmerman that there was a feeling Arlen mught not pull it out.

Zimmerman says Arlen is indefatigable and has had soem tough races...says he figured Toomey wouldn't get more than 35% of the vote when the race started. But the growth club invested heavily, the conservative movement invested heavily...

At this point Gstmeyer intterupts and says "We should know that we're talking that very conservative, Wall Street backed group that Senator Specter has asked there be an investigation conducted into in terms of their funding."

Zimmerman agrees saysing "That's Big Money and that money makes a difference in a race like this...at the state level."

Now let me see... I just counted a buck-two-eighty on me. Thanks Wall Street!

That stinks. I guess I have been governed by Scottish law for so long that I can grit my teeth and bear it for another 6 years.

I'm with you there. Hand me that towel. I am sorry but the Republican Party seems to invite this stuff on themselves. Just like them helping out Bob Woodward with his book and keeping Democrats employed by the administration. I could care less about what party a person belongs to as long as they vote the Constitution like Zell Miller. However, these types are few and far between.

Come on fellow conservatives. Let's admit it. Our party doesn't like us or our ideals. If we want to move the conservative agenda we need to start playing the role as spoilers. If we just keep voting for RINOs just to have elected officials with a R next to their name we loose the long term battle.

I know I'm going to take heat for this, but I will not vote for Specter. I will vote for Hoffel. I know some have suggested a protest write in vote for Toomey in the fall but that won't do the job.

Sometimes you have to give up power to gain it in the long term. If conservatives are to ever have a voice we must make ourselves relevant. Given that we are an obvious minority in the republican party we need to learn to use the tactics of Specter and Snow who routinely hold the Senate Republicans hostage for their votes. We need to do the same. We must defeat Arlen in the fall to prove to the republican party that they can't take conservatives for granted.

OK, let the flames begin.

Don't worry. RINO's will keep control of the Senate. Rudy will be UN Ambassador and future Senator (he's liberal too) and in 2008 the GOP will likely nominate a flaming RINO for President. Happy now?
