Could be. Alqaida and their friends are intending to kill fellow Arabs and Muslims. Time to take off the blinders RoPniks.

Is Assad is losing control? If one lays down with dogs, do not be surprised if one gets fleas.

"Nothing on the US networks yet."
"When is that statement ever false?"
Boy, ain't that the truth! It's what brought me here over four years ago, very much like banging your head against a wall to get breaking news on TV here before everyone else in the world has heard it.

I'm praying that we have a contigency plan for a quick move into Syria in the event of a coup or general chaos.

"Assad was about to flip."
Could be, but somehow I think this is the twin of the foiled Jordan attack.

I hate to toot my horn, but I posted this earlier in the morning...Jordan Foils Al Qaeda Plot Deadlier Than September 11 Attacks

This has to be the front-runner for #1 Spiked Story of 2004. The significance of this almost-event cannot be overestimated. Al Qaeda targeting an Arab nation with WMD?
If this attack took place with maximum devastation, the Middle East would be up for grabs. Jordan would attack Syria and Israel would have taken on Iran with proof that they are bankrolling al Qaeda and Hezbollah and promoting chemical warfare...
We are THIS CLOSE... ...

Unknown group in Syria????? Maybe the Kurds in Syria finally got tired of being thrown into jails by the government there, eh? But, seeing that it is Syria, I figure we'll be told that Mossad caused it all. Look for the dems to blame Dubya.

I tend to agree with you about this being a twin to the Jordanian attack by al Qaeda. Let's hope it's not a triplet, quad or quint.

any reports of gas or chemicals being part of this attack? let's see what comes across the wires.

Just goes to show how Bush's illegal war has upset the stability in the Middle East.

This Is Called AQ BLOWBACK.
(It Doesn't Just Happen to the US Anymore)
If they succeed in overthrowing Assad and setting up a Taliban state, we'll have all we need to intervene. But you'd think having failed in Jordan that they would regroup unless their hand was forced.

The attack in Jordan was to be part of a larger offensive (tied in with the bombing of the terminal, too).
Look, al-Qaeda is at war with much of the Arab world too. They're fully capable of making a tactical alliance- but they're increasingly desperate, and so they're lashing out at whatever they can get.
I mean, how the hell did they think that killing 20,000 to 80,000 Jordanians would help their cause?
To: oceanview
Whoa! I didn't even consider that!
