Why the strong interest in PA Maglev? I thought you lived in Nevada?

From a national perspective, I advocate development of mass transit systems (light rail, high-speed rail and Maglev) electricly powered by nuclear and/or clean technologies as a means of reducing our nation's dependency on imported OPEC oil. It's not a panacea, but a worthwile investment that has long-term benefits for domestic commerce, technology development, employment, etc. etc.

Yes, I'm a current resident of Nevada, but I'm also a native of Pittsburgh. And as an engineer, I understand that the Pennsylvania Maglev proposal offers the best testbed of this new technology due to Pittsburgh's challenging climate and terrain. New technologies gotta go through refinement by real world challenges. The 'Burgh presents the best opportunity to work out the kinks. Get it working there, and other installations will be a cakewalk.

Willie, I've been superficially [pun intended] interested in Maglev since I read about it a decade ago. But I'm no engineer, and I don't know much more about current progress. Do you have any good (non-technical) links where I could brush up?
