A light turnout will actually favor Toomey. His support has been very motivated by the chance to dump Spector.
If the turnout is heavy, then that means Spector supporters are getting out also.
While the polls have all shown a very very close finish -- they have also shown that Spectors support is much softer than Toomey's-- which translates into, Toomey voter will definately show up at the polls, Spector supporters will need a reason to show up.

Can Toomey beat a Democrat in Penn and will this adversely affect Bush carrying the state in the General? Just curious as to thoughts there in Pennsylvania.

My wife and I worked a local poll in the Pittsburgh area for two hours tonight. Of the Republicans who came in, all but two were either VERY receptive to hearing about Pat or said "We're already going to vote for him!"
The other two didn't say "we're voting for Specter", they just didn't want to take voter cards.
