I saw this quoted on here yesterday, equally out of context, here is Buckley's summation;
But GOP voters in Pennsylvania have the opportunity to forgive Bush, and vote for Toomey.His point was that people should not turn on Bush just because he supported the wrong candidate. Conservatives support Toomey.

I read Buckley's column the way you did.
Forgive both Bush and Santorum and vote for Toomey.
(But don't trust any endorsements from Bush or Santorum in the primary.)
Shalom.

His point was that people should not turn on Bush just because he supported the wrong candidate. Conservatives support Toomey I understand that completely, Buckley, IMO, was just saying that incumbants support other party incumbants and that conservatives shouldn't go head turning knee jerk over it.
BTW, if I were a PA resident and I could vote in the primary, I would vote for Toomey.
