Update on the Westwood California hoax threat arrest. According to the FBI complaint, "Mohamed's history is replete with evidence of his fraudulent activities, to include false Texas and California identification, use of a false Social Security number to open a bank account, theft of $12,000 from a group of individuals, and false statements to FBI agents."

He failed to show up for an interview with the agents in January 2003, and they discovered that all of his identification was fake. He couldn't be found until his arrest Thursday. This investigation got under way after his call was traced to a Florida calling card company, then to a hotel in Calgary. Interviewed Monday, Mohamed acknowledged making the crank call, which prompted L.A. police to make the threat public and increase patrols at several shopping centers, the complaint said.
