I can't get either of those...please keep us posted down here in SD.

One of our local stations broke with a news chopper that crashed in Brooklyn (apparently very recently) and they were acting like someone would be recognized? But only heard part of it. It didn't look good from what I saw. Switched and they were having a problem with the live view of the Eagle/Temecula fire, but mentioned that that one, the Gafford/Elsinore one and the Cerrito/Corona/whatever the other name is are all getting bad, especially as the winds may pick up now.

We're obviously not getting much till they get the signal back up to the Temecula fire.

Riverside County:


The Eagle Fire south of Temecula scorched 3,900 acres and was 30 percent contained early Tuesday. Several homes were destroyed, including a residence and workshop owned by the University of California, Riverside. Reports of several other buildings damaged or destroyed overnight Tuesday. Hundreds of people, including residents of an arts colony, were ordered to evacuate. The fire broke out Sunday.


El Cerrito Fire between Corona and Lake Elsinore spread across 5,000 acres after breaking out Monday afternoon east of Interstate 15. It destroyed an abandoned structure and threatened up to 4,000 homes and major power transmission lines. Six firefighters suffered minor injuries. It was 10 percent contained Tuesday. CDF officials arrested Richard Drew Brown late Monday on two felony counts of "recklessly causing the fire with equipment."


The Gafford Fire southeast of Lake Elsinore scorched 375 acres after breaking out Monday. It was 85 percent contained Monday night and expected to be fully contained Tuesday morning. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries.


The School Fire north of Temecula burned 400 acres and was 100 percent contained Monday night.

San Diego County:


The India Fire that started Sunday near the Camp Pendleton Marine base scorched 1,825 acres and was about 75 percent contained Monday, with no structures damaged and no injuries reported.

Santa Barbara County:


The Cachuma Fire on Figueroa Mountain in the Los Padres National Forest covered 150 acres Monday afternoon and damaged several vehicles and structures. It was 5 percent contained Monday night.

Los Angeles County:


The Wayside Fire near a county jail in Castaic burned 50 acres before it was fully contained Monday evening.

NewsChannel 4 Chopper Crashes In Brooklyn
NEW YORK -- A NewsChannel 4 helicopter covering a shooting Tuesday in Brooklyn crashed on a rooftop.

Three occupants are in serious condition, but reportedly did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred at about 6:21 p.m. Callers to 911 reported seeing the helicopter "fall from the sky" and onto a rooftop, police said.....snip
