Yeah, he was pretty specific. I heard him say "medals" too. I heard Col. Bill Cowan on FNC say that if you throw your medals away, or happen to misplace them, you can't get them replaced, on the other hand, if you throw your ribbons away or misplace them, you can go to any PX and get new ones. He claims to have 3 purple hearts, that were awarded him in a 4 month period. I happen to think they're ribbons and not medals, or perhaps he has one medal and two ribbons (that he bought with his own money).
