Ping on #88.

"The best way I can explain what I witnessed at today's so-called March for Women's Lives is to reference the movie, The Exorcist. When the possessed child, Regan, is confronted by priests who have come to expel the evil spirit from her, she reacts in shockingly vulgar, profane ways."

Abortion is not about saving women’s lives!

Total Abortions since 1973

Now you are touching on the REAL PROBLEMS that created this immigration crisis to begin with . .

Q: Why does the United States Government permit wholesale illegal Mexican immigration?

A: For the workers.

Q: Why does the United States Government need foreign workers (not just Mexicans)?

A: It does not have enough labor force to meet the service sector and other blue collar work sector demands and growth within it's economy.

Q: Why does the United States Government not have enough workers to meet economic demand?

A: Over FORTY MILLION AMERICAN WORKERS HAVE BEEN ABORTED OVER THE PAST TWENTY YEARS.

Q: If over FORTY million American workers have been aborted over the past twenty years, who is going to pay for (read: generate taxes) the Social Security of the baby-boomer generation (now reaching critical mass)? (NOTE: BABY BOOMERS have killed as many Americans as Lenin and Stalin did Russians.)

A: Mexican workers.

Final Question: If they had survived, who would they have to thank for it and WHO WOULD THE TWENTY MILLION ABORTED AMERICANS HAVE VOTED MOST FOR?

Any questions?

Here’s another solution. Stop killing American Citizens before they draw their first breath.

My guess is that five million of them would have voted for Bush, five million of them for Gore and the other ten million would have stood around with their thumbs up their butts.

But in any case none of them deserved to be grotesquely murdered.

Abortion is not about saving women’s lives!

Total Abortions since 1973

44,670,812

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why the drop after 1960? (in deaths of women from illegal abortions)

The reasons were new and better antibiotics, better surgery and the establishment of intensive care units in hospitals. This was in the face of a rising population. Between 1967 and 1970 sixteen states legalized abortion. In most it was limited, only for rape, incest and severe fetal handicap (life of mother was legal in all states). There were two big exceptions — California in 1967, and New York in 1970 allowed abortion on demand. Now look at the chart carefully.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Abortion Statistics - Decision to Have an Abortion (U.S.)

· 25.5% of women deciding to have an abortion want to postpone childbearing

· 21.3% of women cannot afford a baby

· 14.1% of women have a relationship issue or their partner does not want a child

· 12.2% of women are too young (their parents or others object to the pregnancy)

· 10.8% of women feel a child will disrupt their education or career

· 7.9% of women want no (more) children

· 3.3% of women have an abortion due to a risk to fetal health

2.8% of women have an abortion due to a risk to maternal health

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So how many women’s lives have been saved by abortion?

Only about 3% of abortions since 1972 were reported to be “due to a risk to maternal health.” A reasonable person would recognize that not all of those cases represent a lethal risk. But let’s say they did. That means that nearly 45 million fetuses were butchered to save the lives of about 1.3 million women.

Abortion was legal in all 50 states prior to Roe v. Wade in cases of danger to the life of the woman.

Your story about Father Reynolds gives an enhanced meaning to when Jesus said on the cross 'Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

At least they didn't know, the saddest part is that these people know what they are doing and do it anyway. God forgive them, because I don't think I can.

Excellent Post, very informative. About your last point, since many women have multiple abortions, there would be even fewer women endangered by high risk pregnancies. Also given the broad term "risk of maternal health" I would not say that those women's lives were saved. Interestingly, the real exception to this rule is that of ectopic pregnancy (Where the baby implants outside the uterus, usually in the fallopian tube). The Fallopian tube must be excised in order to save the life of the mother (the child would not have survived regardless). Technically however this is not an abortion- the excision of the fallopian tube is the intent of the procedure, the death of the child is an unintended consequence. The Catholic Church allows this (although many pro-aborts will tell you that the Church does not) due to lack of intent to harm the child.
Anyway, I excerpted the following:

Current Trends Ectopic Pregnancy -- United States, 1981-1983

During 1981, 68,000 ectopic pregnancies were reported in the United States; the number decreased to 61,800 in 1982 and increased again to 69,600 in 1983 (Table 1). Over the 14-year surveillance period of 1970-1983, the rate of ectopic pregnancy increased more than threefold from 4.5 per 1,000 pregnancies* in 1970 to 14.0/1,000 in 1983 (Table 1, Figure 1). The rate per 1,000 live births increased fourfold from 4.8 in 1970 to 19.2 in 1983, and the rate per 10,000 females 15-44 years of age increased threefold from 4.2 to 12.6 during 1970-1983.

So why the large increase from 1970 to 1983. Well, studies have now shown it is due to increased spread of STD's, especially Chlamydia. And from 1970 to 1983 the rise of promiscuous behavior led to a corresponding rise in STD's. Yet another lovely benefit of Society's acceptance of a contraceptive mentality and abortion on demand.

Thanks for letting me rant. BTW I'm saving the links from your posts, and the post for arguments. Very good stuff.

God Bless.

What a brave priest! Too bad it's not on film so that these people can be shown to be the hate-filled anti-Catholic bigots that they are.

May I modify your statement which is very true as far as it goes........

What a brave priest! Too bad it's not on film so that these people can be shown to be the hate-filled anti-Catholic, anti-Protestant, anti-Christian of any denomination, anti-God, Pro satan bigots that they are.

(Maybe they'll sing a different tune when hell's gates open wide to receive them and that's really being "pro choice".)

This is an article which gos through it. http://archfami.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/full/9/2/126

Note that there are some pro-life ob's who put out a paper arguing against the abortifacient properties of Birth Control, However, their research was shoddy, and relied on the fact that they defined "pregnancy" as after the embryo implanted (which does not take into acount the first 5-9 days. This first 5-9 days is when the birth control pill is most likely to have it's abortifacient effect. Also the pro-life ob's were not the most unbiased researchers, as it would have involved a serious risk in their practice to stop prescribing oral contraceptives (and I do appreciate that they refuse to perform abortions, we need more like them).

My wife (long before we met) had an ectopic pregnancy, in the fallopian tube, due to damage from the abortion she had had before. It almost killed her and rendered her infertile. The fetus was not formed properly anyway. It was a jumbled mass of fetal tissues. Her original, legal, abortion caused all of this. I wonder how many of those thousands of ectopic pregnancies were the result of damage from abortions? Abortion is a horror beyond the demented imaginings of Dr. Mengele or the torture chambers of Saddam Hussein.
