Sorry for not being clear, but that's what I meant. Lots of these areas had actually been closer to Rome than to Constantinople. That's why it was easy for Arianized areas to accept the Islamic idea of Jesus.
As for the Monophysite heresy, what I meant was simply that the weakness of orthodoxy and the division in the Church was what had made it easier for Islam to conquer Monophysite areas.
