The customer is not always right, but most businesses promote the perception of the opposite being true. To those who "game" the system, companies often tell them to get lost. My college roommate "gamed" Sears out of three sets of workboots over 12 months, because the soles melted in contact with gasoline in the service station where he worked. The store manager told him to get lost eventually, and seek help from a podiatrist, because he probably walks funny.

Businesses have a responsibility of setting and meeting expectations. Buffets are presumed to be all-you-can-eat. If otherwise, they should indicate that. Arbitrarily stepping in and limiting what one can take is not an equitable way of conducting business.
