We need threaten Syria with a massive Nuclear strike. We should use the powerful weapons we have when it will save American lives. Why should we invade and occupy that POS nation while getting attacked by countless homicide bombers? Let's seriously start looking at using our Nuclear weapons when dealing with Syria and Iran. It would save American lives. Syria and Iran are both causing American deaths and they should be dealt with now. To hell with the UN, the Arab/Muslim world, and the liberal socialist. Let's do what we have too.

This is just a guess, but I imagine that we will end up going into Syria whether we want to or not, and whether we like it or not.

They just keep upping the ante on us and claiming innocence through the back channels.

In my opinion, President Bush is waiting for after the election, when he is elected again, all scores will be settled. Things that must happen with the entire Middle East will be started and they will be forced to continue after the Bush term is completed.

President Bush is a visonary that will only be appreciated 100 years from now.

"..On April 17, Jordanian police seized an amount of WMD chemicals being carried into Jordan from Syria by Al Qaeda terrorists. Three booby-trapped pickups were loaded with explosives and VX poison gas containers..."

Allow me to scream BS here! Nowhere in any publication other than WND is VX poison gas mentioned. WND got the VX item from a radio report from John Loftus who was speculating. WND then quoted Loftus and now this author is basically doing the same thing. One person starts a rumor or "fact" and others join in start quoting each other. When it doesn't pan out, they claim coverup. When VX is mentioned generally in other sources and the DOD or other credible sources say VX then I will believe it.

This type of "reporting" is why I take anything from WND with a grain of salt.

"Twenty thousand human beings were almost slaughtered in Jordan this month. Whatever anarchic chaos occurs in Syria after a B2 strike obliterates the Presidential Palace in Damascus, it is preferable to al-Assad-backed terrorists succeeding in their next VX attempt. "

Thats a very strong point.

One lesson of 9-11 is to not wait till its too late.

I am loathe to agree with you, but I think you are right on the money. I do not believe the USA can negotiate with these non-humans called Arab Muslims. We are going to have to resort to our nuclear weapons if the USA is to survive. I think both Syria and Iran need to be destroyed right now! Anything less than that will set the stage for mass killings of Americans, military and civilian alike and the total destruction of the American economy. It is really up to GW Bush! If he does not take action before November and John Kerry wins the Presidency, this country is finished. The Arabs lie in wait for that fateful day. I cannot believe that a majority of Americans do not see the peril and danger we are in. Our nation has reached a very sad state very quickly when it can't see the forest for the trees! A good first step to try to avoid a severe nuclear elimination would be some serious butt beating right in Iraq. A few Iraqi cities holy or otherwise turned into glass would send a powerful message to the enemy. But. alas, it appears we don't have the will!

"the literally hysterical objections of the State Department"

The US State Department is the best argument for building a Gulag that I have ever seen.

That place is rotten from the ground up and from the top down.

I agree completely. Hopefully the occupation nonsense in Iraq taught us a valuable lesson and from now on we'll just bomb our enemies to oblivion - carpet bombing, MOABs, Daisy Cutters, cruise missiles, etc - to soften them up and then send in the Army, Marines, and Spec Ops to clean up the mess. Then after their business is complete they'd get the hell outta there -- they're not policemen, they're warriors. Any trouble after that can be easily be eliminated by more bombing. .....and perhaps even nukes.

"Winning hearts and minds" is a near-impossiblity with our Islamist enemies.....especially since the vast majority of them possess neither.

The "Prophecy Against Damascus" in Isaiah 17 may come to pass sooner than we thought...

1. The burden against Damascus.
"Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city,
And it will be a ruinous heap.
2. The cities of Aroer are forsaken;
They will be for flocks [that is, unihabitable by people]
Which lie down, and no one will make them afraid.
3. The fortress also will cease from Ephraim,
The kingdom from Damascus,
And the remnant of Syria;
They will be as the glory of the children of Israel,"
Says the LORD of hosts.

Spank them with a massive nuclear response? Why not you say?

Because that country is filled with innocent people who are no more responsible for their leader's actions than you are for what George Bush does in your name every day. Innocent people like you and me who would be seared from this world simply because you want the evil ones to pay? Not smart.
In fact, if it were to happen, and Damascus was turned into a glass parking lot...the lives of almost every American civilian abroad wouldn't be worth spit. Would you want that on your conscience?

I'm as much of a hawk as the most rabid here...but a preemptive nuclear strike on Syria? Not smart.

Sounds to me like Damascus may be in jeopardy of losing its record as the longest continually occupied city.

Its possible that Al Qeada or some group like Hizbullah could have VX.

Syria has a large arsenal of VX warheads for their Scud C/D program...
Israel says they have it..I believe their intel.
and Debka has nothing to do with this info : )

Syria has had 2 major explosions at their underground Missile assembly sites...one event occured at Homs..which is one of their main Missile command bases in their firechain.
Syria has deep layered underground facilities.
MEIB [Middle East Intelligence Bulletin]..notes that after Gulf War 1..Syria used and built upon the success of some of Saddams Euro built facilities which U.S. ordinance failed to penatrate..[Top levels collapsed leaving lower intact]

In connection to this information..finds the U.S. and Israeli's networking in development of *Tunneling Micro boosted nukes...said to be online today for both nations arsenals.

One detonation event occured when Bashar Assad was in Lebanon for the Saudi lead Beruit Summit..his first trip into the Lebanon.

The Summit was a disaster for Bashar,
He tried to show how powerfull he was..in one instance..he forgave a giant Electricity debt owed by Lebanon to Syria.
The Saudi's refused to acknowledge him..he was shunted to the smokey back room..playing no part in the summit.
Then a VX Scud assembly facility went up.
Monterry Strategic,Stratfor and Janes Intel marked a joint Israeli/U.S. special forces operation.
The event killed many North Korean technitions sent to assemble and train the Syrians.
Days later..North Korea requested a summit with the U.S...a 180 turn around from their previous stance.

Syria has a large Scud arsenal..spread out in sectors...some are roll out launch from mountain sides.
Syria having seen its failure at Mechanized warfare with Israel..and Air combat, put their time and resources into the Scud c/d series which is North Koreas's knock off Soviet copies.

We cannot invade Syria, Our Military is too small for the additional burden. For some unexplainable reason, Bush is willing to spend money on everything except increasing the size of our combat forces.

Well .. for those who read their Bible, see Isaiah 17:1.

If Syria manages to get VX into Israel .. Damascus will be history.

My impression has always been that Syria didn't quite have the balls to do something overt that could result in retaliation by the United States or Isreal. If enough pressure is applied I suspect Syria will fly straight for a little while at least. We can also get them to cough up Iraqi WMD (if we have not already got Sudan to help us on that front) and give them a way out if we choose. I fear that our clueless state department will fight this all the way, wouldn't want to hurt anybody's feelings now would we.

Cleanup Lebanon first. After allowing no retreat accross the Syrian border. A retreat accross the Isreali border would be fun to watch. Syria will then get real pliable, with the US in lebanon and iraq.. Bashir will come grinning like a used camel dealer.. or he will checking under his bed every night and/or be listening for cruise missles.
