Dear Ragtime Cowgirl -- again, thank you -- I do scan the Iraqi bloggers. And I am moved so much. Reading the recent entry by Mohammad, I am reminded of how I felt in the 90s. Given, there's no comparison between Iraq and here, the US -- but in parallel -- there are. I can relate so very keenly to his emotions expressed in this particular blog entry. In the 90s, I wondered where could one run to - in AMERICA. I and my family faced terrible persecution, bureacratic and legal. There was no freerepublic, there were no "conservative" legal groups to assist. All around me were people who agreed "in principle" but they themselves didn't wish to also be punished and persecuted. And these did not stand at my side. I saw America losing its freedoms during the 90s. I saw a "by any means necessary" mentality seizing the reigns of our government aided and abetted by a partisan press, worldwide. And if I had anything to tell Mohammad, I would tell him this:

Stand your ground. Even if you feel all alone in doing so. No matter the scorn of your neighbors, their cynasism. No matter the harassment. Stand your ground. In time, you will find like-minded souls. And you will rebuild your country.

I can relate to Mohammad's exhaustion, his fears, and his feeling so alone. But he's not alone. I look at what Conservatives have and are accomplishing -- when back in the 90s there were so many cynically laughing at any efforts to reclaim the constitutional soundness of America -- even among conservatives railing "It's over. America is toast". And every day I get joyful at seeing how much progress we (conservs) have made, and will continue to make. I've learned to not let temporary setbacks deter me from actively pursuing this civil war between Liberals and Conservatives, and in seeing the progress made. Fear and worry-wortism have no place in my psyche. Of course they appear. But, what is foremost in my mind is the goal.

Our press ignores the voices of free Iraqi's and the voices of our troops. Much as they spent years and years ignoring the horrors that were being visited upon America and Americans. We have changed America for better. The same shall be done in Iraq.

Yes, it takes time for truth and justice to emerge. But it does emerge -- and with a solidness and finality that shuts down the "empty voices" and "empty suits". Every single time. It's the shot that silences all shallow people: truth, justice, honor. And just as conservatives have spent 30 years in the wilderness -- held hostage, silenced, abused, and censored by a liberal elite -- we are emerging. Iraq will too.

One day at a time, every little bit of courage matters and is important. Each individual act of good-will and courage builds the temple of freedom.
