Officers always got urinary tract infections, never the clap.
Is this true and is it common knowledge?

We need to be sure that David Letterman and Jay Leno pick up on this. The nickname of Klapper Kerry would devastate him at the polls.

As any old sailor knows, chiefs and officers get non specific urethritis from drinking too much coffee. It happened all the time. Are there any old corpsmen out there that could help us out?

The "clap" usually refers to gonorrhea, while NSU is "Non-specific uretheritis". NSU is also called a "strain", from doing the nasty too much. It doesn't HAVE to be an STD, but they usually treated it like it was...anti-biotics and all that.

I guess you could develop it by ,er...umm,choking the chicken too much too, but who am I to judge?
